long ago, when war ravaged the land and blood soaked the earth, the gods, tired of all the needless bloodshed, set upon a plague of snow and wind and darkness to the wolves of the mortal world. the harshness was punishment, i suppose. the wolves of earth, however, were too blinded by their own rage and hatred for each other, that they didn't even realize that the gods were punishing them. they continued fighting, kin murdering kin, mothers murdering daughters, fathers murdering sons. it was complete and utter madness. a few years passed, and as they did, more corpses were littering the ground. that was when the gods decided to distract them, to give them one common goal to strive for. the chance to live forever. immortality. hidden in a forest far away, guarded by vicious demons, is a pool of blackened water, the very source of the immortals. it worked. the wolves were distracted enough to stop fighting with each other. at last, there was peace...but not for long. as greed, envy, and jealousy began to blossom in the wolves' hearts, they began fighting once more. the gods' plan had backfired. no one has yet to reach the pool, those who have tried, are dead at the jaws of the guardian demons. if someone ever drinks from the pool, who knows what could happen...it's only a matter of time.
